I moved from wordpress.com to a self-hosted blog through bluehost. I love them, and they have one-click wordpress install. It was all very easy, and the customer service has been great! As for self-hosting, it was easy to transfer all of my posts and comments. However, any videos that were featured in a post via VodPod had to be updated. The biggest problem I ran into was after installing wordpress in my directory, the visual editor toolbar and theme preview was disabled. In addition to that, 48 hrs after self-hosting my host was down for 6 hours and no one from their company contacted me. I ended up contacting my host and they kept delaying the resolution time.
